💡 Quick summary
| What it is | What it means | Accepted limit |
|---|---|---|
| Resolution | Image detail (in MP) | Up to 1080p |
| Dimensions | Width x Height in pixels | Up to 1080x1080 |
| Size | File weight | Up to 3 GB |
| Format | File type | .jpg, .png, .mp4, and others. |
🧭 Where to find media details
• On iPhone (iOS)
- Open the photo or video in the gallery.
- Tap the (i) information button. Or on the date that appears on the photo.
- See details like “24 MP,” “4284 x 5712,” “2.6 MB,” and “HEIF.”
(The images below show an example of where this information appears on the iPhone.)
• On Android
- Open the photo.
- Tap “Details” or “Information”. Usually found inside a three-dot icon.
- The same data will be displayed: file name, size, dimensions, and format.
🖼️ 1. Image resolution
Example shown: 24 MP
- What it is: shows the size of the image in megapixels (MP).
- What it is for: the higher the number, the more details the image has. But it also becomes heavier.
- What the Network accepts: up to 1080p (equivalent to 1080 x 1080 pixels maximum).
⚠️ If your media has very high resolution, reduce it before uploading. Sending it via WhatsApp reduces the resolution.
📏 2. Image dimensions
Example shown: 4284 x 5712
- What it is: the width and height of the image, measured in pixels.
- What the platform accepts: up to 1080x1080 pixels.
💡 If the image is larger, you can resize it before posting.
💾 3. File size
Example shown: 2.6 MB
- What it is: the file weight, measured in MB (megabytes) or GB (gigabytes).
- What the platform accepts:
- Up to 3 GB per file (image, video, or audio).
- Files larger than 512 MB do not go to the archive (are not saved in the internal gallery of Privacy).
🧩 4. File format
Example shown: HEIF
- What it is: the type of file of your media, that is, the media extension, such as: .jpg, .png, .mp4, etc.
- Accepted formats:
🖼️ Images
.gif, .jpg, .jpeg, .png, .webp, .heif, .heic
🎥 Videos
.mpeg, .mov, .m4v, .m2ts, .mp4, .webm, .mpg, .hevc
🎧 Audios
.mp3, .wav, .ogg, .opus, .m4a
⚠️ If “RAW” appears (common digital camera format), it will be necessary to convert to JPG or PNG, for example, before uploading.
📚 5. Number of media per post
- You can add up to 48 media per post.
- Each can be up to 3 GB.
- Files larger than 512 MB are not saved in the archive.
